The City of Kyle is the childhood home of writer Katherine Anne Porter, Claiborne Kyle Log House, Thunderhill Raceway and Kyle Fair and Music Festival with national artists Cory Morrow, Rick Trevino, Aaron Watson and others.

The Kyle Fair includes the 5K Kyle-O-Meter fun run, Barbeque Cook-off, Parade, Carnival, Texas Hold'em Tournament, KidZone, and Arts, Crafts and Food Vendors.
