Theater Center - Texas State University

    Temporarily closed

The Theatre Center, built in 1970 and resembling a huge, red drum, has become a campus icon. It houses the Department of Theatre and Dance. It is also the site of the Mainstage University Theatre, a modified proscenium stage that hosts several productions a year. Emmy-award-winning actor Powers Boothe, who starred in TV’s “Deadwood” and “24,” graduated from the Texas State theatre program in the 1970s and often returns to teach as a visiting artist.
