San Marcos Tourist Information Center

A mini attraction in its own right, the San Marcos Tourist Information Center offers a full-time, local staff to assist visitors by answering questions, giving directions, and passing out brochures, maps and discount coupons.

Our Tourist Information Center welcomes visitors, allowing them to catch up on special events, get directions, and learn about the city’s history, arts, restaurants, attractions, neighborhoods, shopping and nightlife.  This is your one-stop shop. Let us be the first place to visit when you arrive, for all the latest news and special opportunities San Marcos has in store for you.

Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Sunday:  10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 
(except for major holidays)

Directions:
Traveling south on IH-35, exit 204B travel 1/2 mile on frontage road
Traveling north on IH-35, exit 205 take the turn-around and travel one mile on frontage road.

San Marcos Discovery Center

Visit the San Marcos Discovery Center for information on exploring San Marcos’ natural beauty. From serving as a trailhead to local rivers, parks and trails, to producing, and regularly selling, plants native to the area, the San Marcos Discovery Center houses a wealth of information about local flora and fauna. The San Marcos Discovery Center also coordinates and facilitates different youth services programs and implements programs and strategies for protecting the beautiful San Marcos River. 

San Marcos Iris Garden

This unique garden displays eight varieties of iris, and features the Tall Bearded Iris in colors of brilliant orange, violet, lavender and yellow blooms as well as bi-color variations of standards and falls.

 16 acres of parkland located behind the San Marcos Tourist Information Center
