72° River Festival
APRIL 29-30 • SAN MARCOS PLAZA PARK
72° is a music, culture and education festival that is free and open to the public. Friday April 29 at 8:00pm the film Yakona will screen with a live musical score on the Plaza Park stage. On Saturday April 30, the all day festival celebrates San Marcos’ love for the river that is at its heart from 11:00am-10:00pm. Live music, live painters, anything-that-can-float-but-a-boat derby, educational exhibits and more.
Wine & Art Weekend
APRIL 29-MAY 1 • SAN MARCOS DOWNTOWN SQUARE
A three-day experience in local fare, wine and the best art in the region. Wine walkers can enjoy wine and art. Friday night and Saturday will include MR Fest which showcases the best of area music. The annual Heritage Home Tour will be on Saturday and Sunday and will feature the unique history and character of San Marcos. For tickets and information visit smtxwinewalk.com.
WINE & ART WALK APRIL 29 • 5:30-8:30PM
Fifteen downtown stops will host over 15 artists to display their artwork and will feature a wide variety wines all artfully selected to be paired with hors d’ oeuvres to inspire your creative side. Tickets are $25 presale/$30 at the door and include a commemorative wine glass. 21+ only.
MR FEST APRIL 29-30 • ALL DAY
Since its creation in 2008, the award-winning My Radio Festival, or MR Fest, has become a platform for local and regional artists to showcase their talent. Held in and around San Marcos’ downtown square in various venues, the festival has grown over the last nine years from entertaining 200 fans to nearly 5,000. Live music, comedy performances and vendor booths are part of the fun.
Family friendly shows are at outdoor stages on the courthouse lawn and at The Hitch: A Mobile Eatery during the day. Additional Indie, Rock, Punk and Metal shows will take place at Valentino’s Pizza, Stonewall Warehouse, Superfly’s Lone Star Music Emporium, KIVA Lounge and The Marc. Comedy will showcase at Vodka Street Bistro & Bar. Don’t miss the headline acts La Luz and Night Beats at The Marc on Saturday night, April 30.
HERITAGE HOME TOUR APRIL 30-MAY 1 • 12:00-5:00PM
This year’s Home Tour features homes creatively integrated with ecologically sound, resource-preserving elements, all presented with beauty, grace and style.
Tickets allow access to homes on both tour days, from 12:00-5:00pm. Maps, brochures and tickets are available on the courthouse square at the corner of San Antonio and LBJ streets.
