What To Do In San Marcos After The Game
With the Sun Belt Conference Softball Championships (May 8-11) taking place in San Marcos, it’s the perfect time for sports lovers to indulge in back-to-back softball games as well as exploring all that San Marcos has to offer.
The 2019 Sun Belt Conference Championships will take place at Bobcat Softball Stadium, a mere mile, that’s right ONE mile, from downtown San Marcos. Oh, and did we mention there are four craft breweries located downtown? Of course, downtown San Marcos is home to more than just craft beer, there are also several great restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, a little history and a vibrant nightlife and live music scene. San Marcos really comes alive once the sun goes down.
Want some family-friendly breaks between games? Venture to Wonder World Park for some cave exploring and animal feeding, or The Meadows Center for a relaxing Glass-Bottom Boat ride on Spring Lake. A trip to San Marcos really isn’t a trip to San Marcos without a dip in, or at least a stroll along, the San Marcos River, a refreshing 72-degrees year-round.
San Marcos is also a great place to shop! Home to the largest outlet shopping center in the country, and of course local boutiques with San Marcos flair, you’re sure to find some retail therapy no matter the outcome of the game.
